Ministries

Deacons - The Deacons of New Home feel our main purpose is to serve. First, we should be spiritual leaders. Secondly, we should lead in the area of ministering to all the various personal needs of the church. Our vision for the future of New Home Baptist church is to serve a growing, vibrant people, always putting Christ first, in order to see more souls saved.  Kenneth Gilbert, Chairman of Deacons

Sunday School – For any Christian who wants to grow in Christ and be a better Christian, Sunday School is the place to be.   We encourage you to come to Sunday school and bring your little ones. We have great teachers and they really care about you.

Discipleship Training –To increase your spiritual growth, it’s not enough to just attend church. Many new believers never enjoy the fullness of life that they can have in their new life with Christ. Discipleship is one of the key elements necessary to help you on your Christian journey. Make a decision to make discipleship part of your spiritual journey. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. Matthew 28:20a

Music – During our worship service we have singing by the congregation, Sanctuary Choir, Children’s Choir, groups, or individuals. Singing is often accompanied by various musical instruments (piano, organ, violin, guitars, drums, banjo, and horns). The Sanctuary Choir is open to all interested individuals. The music and songs are meant to encourage and minister to the people listening and to glorify and honor the Lord. Speaking to yourselves in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord. Ephesians 5:19

Church Library – The Church library is an important part of the church ministry program.   The purpose of the church library is to provide Christian materials for education and entertainment. The Church library has a variety of Christian non-fiction book, Christian fiction books, and Christian videos in video cassette and DVD format. These materials may be checked out during the hours that the church is opened.

Men’s Ministry – The Men’s Ministry at New Home is a wonderful way for the men to come together for fellowship and get to know each other. This is a really good way for new members to become acquainted with each other.  The Men's Ministry plans and carries out various Labor of Love Projects.

StewardshipThirty-five cents out of every dollar given through the regular offerings at New Home Baptist Church is placed in a Stewardship Account. From this account designated percentages are given to The Cooperative Program of the Southern Baptist Convention (for SBC mission and ministry causes), Sand Mountain Baptist Association, and New Home Baptist Church Building Fund (to reduce current debt on the Christian life Center).

We support the Alabama Baptist Children's Home through our offerings on Wednesday Night.

From the stewardship account we also support several individual missionaries and mission causes such as Moriah’s Children’s Home, Tim Lee Ministries, Missionary Benny Hatfield, The Higginbotham Family ( Missionaries to North American Indians) Bro. Horace Turner ( The Bible Man),  and Pisgah Nutrition Center (for Senior Adults).  Also from this account we do benevolence support to those that have financial needs arising from sickness, loss of employment, and other reasons.
